I have known since I was around 11 years old that I belonged in the world of fashion and that I would eventually make my mark. It was only within this last year that I realized what I wanted to be known for. Poppy Seeds started as a more niche contemporary t-shirt line. I was looking for something that was easily accessible and in demand but I was not 100% set on the idea. Lingerie has been an interest of mine as well as Lucille Ball "I Love Lucy". Thinking about longevity and being motivated by a co-worker, I decided that vintage inspired swimwear was what I wanted to be known for. But not just imitating vintage suits but rather putting my own twist on it. I appreciate the quality and the styling elements of the 50s. The hats, the gloves, the hair, and most importantly the clothing. My own personal style is classic with a twist. I enjoy designers/brands such as Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Kate Spade.
I see a bright future ahead. I work persistently creating designs that I know women want to wear. Every woman needs to wear clothes that are flattering. You might not ever be a size 0 or have 5% body fat but you have to learn to fake it until you make it , and dress for your shape.
I love what I do. Quality and time are the essential keys to making any business work but you have to simply love what you do. Do not spend your life doing things you hate rather find your passion and find a way to make a living from it and I'm doing just that.
